Our Mission:
"To enhance motorcycle safety and awareness on Louisiana roadways through public awareness and education."

On Sunday morning, the 29th of April, more than 600 motorcyclists met at the Louisiana State Capitol Building to mark the beginning of Motorcycle Awareness Month 2007.

The rally is staged each year by the Louisiana Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Committee and the Louisiana State Highway Safety Commission, headed by Colonel James Champagne.

This year's speakers included Colonel Champagne, State Representative "Mert" Smiley", James "Poet" Sisco, Chairman of the La. Motorcycle Safety Committee; Warren Broussard, Co-chairman of the Committee; as well as committee members "Nappy" Chauvin and Skip Haley.

The keynote speaker this year was Baton Rouge Police Chief Jeff LeDuff, for years a motorcycle officer (motorman) with the Baton Rouge police force and who has developed of the most skilled and effective police motorcycle corps in the Nation during his career with the Baton Rouge force.
