On Sunday morning, the 29th of April, an estimated 500-600 motorcyclists met at the Louisiana State Capitol Building to mark the beginning of Motorcycle Awareness Month 2007.
Colonel James Champagne, Head of the Louisiana Highway Safety Department; James "Poet" Sisco, Chairman of the La. Motorcycle Safety Committee; Warren Broussard, Co-chairman of the Committee; as well as several committee members and La. State Representative Mert Smiley.
The keynote speaker this year was Baton Rouge Police Chief Jeff LeDuff, who for years was a motorcycle officer with the Baton Rouge police force.
